About the Diabetes Risk Panel
What is it?
The Diabetes Risk Panel with Score predicts a patient’s risk of developing diabetes. It provides four components:
- Lipid panel with reflex to direct LDL
- HbA1c measurement
- Glucose measurement
- 8-Year Framingham Diabetes Risk Score
When should you use it?
What makes it different?
This panel offers some key advantages that directly impact the quality of information and care you can provide to your patients early on:
- Measures both glucose and HbA1c levels—recent studies have shown that testing glucose plus HbA1c levels provides greater accuracy in identifying prediabetes than testing either marker alone1-4
- Offers 8-Year Framingham Diabetes Risk Score—optional and available at no additional cost, this score is based on the landmark Framingham Study Group and provides a percentage risk of developing diabetes over the next 8 years5
- Reports results in a graphical format—supports your discussions with patients by helping you clearly communicate risk
