blisters has been added to the Overview and Home Treatment
sections.
- Bruises and Blood Spots Under the Skin: This topic has undergone a new medical review and was found
to be accurate and up-to-date.
- Change in Heartbeat: The Topic Overview now mentions that older adults may
have extra heartbeats. Information on using an automatic external defibrillator
has been added to the Emergencies section. We have changed the slow heartbeat
question from 50 to 60 beats per minute in the Check Your Symptoms
section.
- Chest Pain: In the Topic
Overview we have added aortic dissection to the list of serious problems
causing chest pain. The aspirin dose in the Emergencies and Check Your Symptoms
sections has been updated.
- Facial Injuries: We have added a question about double vision after an
eye socket injury to the Check Your Symptoms section. Symptoms to watch for
during home treatment now include numbness or tingling. The time frame for
stopping facial bleeding has been clarified.
- Facial Problems, Noninjury: This topic has undergone a new medical
review and was found to be accurate and up-to-date.
- Fever, Age 3 and Younger: Questions on mild difficulty
breathing, a rash that looks like a sunburn, and mild dehydration have been
added to the Check Your Symptoms section.
- Fever, Age 4 and Older: The aspirin dose in the
Emergencies section has been updated. In the Check Your Symptoms section we
have added questions on sensitivity to light and wheezing. Also in Check Your
Symptoms we have updated the time frames in the fever question for the number
of days with a fever.
- Fever Seizures:
The Topic Overview now contains information from the American Academy of
Pediatrics on the number of children affected by fever seizures. We have added
epiglottis to the Emergencies section. The Check Your Symptoms section now
contains a question on a rash that looks like a sunburn.

peripheral artery disease has been deleted from the Check Your Symptoms
section, because there is not a strong relationship to groin problems.
