Traditional underwriting requirements
Our team of professionals specialize in obtaining medical information directly from the individual. We have the ability to conduct a personal history interview online or over the phone. Our interview scripts usually include questions to obtain personal and family medical information, as well as details on hazardous activities and financial information, but can be customized as needed.
Many times applicants are required to have a paramedical exam performed. This typically includes the recording of height, weight, blood pressure and pulse and may also include a specimen collection. Through Quest Diagnostics, we have more than a thousand Quest Patient Service Centers available to life insurance applicants. Additionally, we have 1,500 ExamOne exam centers and 6,000 mobile examiners who can travel to the applicant's home or office to complete this requirement.
ExamOne's laboratory has been serving the life insurance industry for more almost 50 years. Our main laboratory testing site for risk assessment specimens is located in Lenexa, KS with an additional testing laboratory located in St. Louis, MO.

Backed by Quest Diagnostics, our unique data solutions deliver an unmatched, robust view of an applicant’s health history. Through LabPiQture™, insurers receive a 7-year longitudinal health history of an applicant through a database of clinical laboratory testing results.* This exclusive data set includes testing results for millions of unique patients.
Additionally, our prescription history database, ScriptCheck® reports on 24 billion prescriptions from the country’s largest pharmacy benefit managers and retail pharmacy chains. Cash prescriptions and uninsured prescription refills are also discovered through our ScriptCheck database.
