Government officials, local community partners, and Quest Diagnostics employees joined Steve Rusckowski, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Quest Diagnostics, today at groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate construction of our new flagship laboratory in Clifton, New Jersey. The 250,000-square-foot flagship laboratory will become the largest in the Quest network of more than 20 major laboratory facilities across the nation. The laboratory will be built on an approximately 12-acre site on the Clifton side of the ON3 campus, the former 100+ acre Hoffmann-La Roche property which spans Clifton and the Township of Nutley and is expected to be operational in early 2021. The lab builds on the success of Quest's "Lab of the Future" in Marlborough, Massachusetts, incorporating innovative uses of building design and automated technology to provide a broad range of advanced diagnostic information services to more than 40 million people in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia."This lab will employ more than 1,100 people and provide our employees with an inspiring workplace to flourish," Rusckowski said, noting that many of those employees "have worked for us for decades and may have even seen our Teterboro lab open its doors 40 years ago."In addition to putting ceremonial shovels into the ground as construction crews worked on the foundation of what will be a state-of-the-art facility, the company also used the occasion to recognize our community partners and make a contribution to the Boys and Girls Club of New Jersey."I’d like to thank our great employees for all of their hard work in getting to this history-making milestone," Rusckowski added. "Together, the future looks bright for Quest Diagnostics. We look forward to having you back here in 2021 to cut the ribbon on this truly transformation laboratory."The ON3 campus, and its vision to become a mixed-use new-urbanist hub, is attracting forward thinking, innovative and market leading companies. ON3 is home to the Seton Hall-Hackensack Meridian Graduate School of Medicine, and Seton Hall's College of Nursing and School of Health and Medical Sciences.
